Do people really give a damn? I walked into my favorite cafe in Austin Halcyon. I walked to the counter smiled at the barista and then asked "How are you doing today?" He replied "We don't make that." After realizing what I said he got embarrassed and made a comment that sparked this post. He said, "People are usually so busy that I've never been asked that."
